Product overview
One of the principal monomers of the silicone industry. Hydrolysis produces dimethylsiloxane hydrolysate, which is converted by cracking, distillation and polymerization into cyclic siloxanes and polydimethylsiloxanes.

Silicone rubberUsed to manufacture methyl silicone rubber and related base polymers.
Dimethylsiloxane intermediatesUsed to prepare linear and cyclic siloxanes of different degrees of polymerization.
04 / HANDLING
Packaging, storage and transport
Keep the handling system dry and preferably under nitrogen. Avoid inhalation and skin/eye contact. Do not flush spills directly with water; follow the SDS and use a compatible inert absorbent.
Typical packagingAvailable in sample packs, drums or IBCs depending on product compatibility and order quantity.
Sealing requirementsUse a clean, dry and tightly sealed compatible container; nitrogen protection is recommended for moisture-sensitive grades.
Storage conditionsStore in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place away from moisture, heat, ignition sources and incompatible materials.
